location
Gambier Island is a rugged, boat-access-only gulf island, in the center of Howe Sound, BC. It's an island made of thick white-grey granite, underneath a soft spongy soil home to grand maples, doug firs, cedars, hemlock, and of course - the local beauty - arbutus.
The site is on a particularly unique rock outcrop, connected to a sometimes island, or a little island only when the tide is high.
This siting made for some serious consideration and effort to put in the new foundations and deck for the addition to the existing cabin.
