Build Process

I’ve been trying to maintain building as part of my design practice, in order to become more aware of how design affects real lived experience of space and place.
During the build, many adversities were accommodated while ensuring the camp’s goals were maintained.
Built in January and February of 2019, the project was completed in good standing and according to plan.

One significant change was in the North wall construction: I decided to shift the North wall outward by a 15 degree angle, which is perpendicular to the angle of the roof.
It turned out to be a very advantageous shift for the interior available space, as well as to the exterior formal design.
